We used to call our news pages Jicky’s Latest News after Jicky (Ordrick Samuel) who for many years announced village news including birthdays, deaths, meetings and his opinion on local politics – interspersed with his favourite songs – over a loudspeaker from his roof. There were only occasional interruptions, until finally he was shut down by a new neighbour. Sadly now we have to use facebook instead but we try to keep to the straight and narrow.

So we keep our old Jicky’s Latest News (JLN) articles as an archive going back as far as 2004 when the barbudaful website blog started (before facebook linked us all over the world) Some of the older posts have lost some of their content (images and old links) over that time but they are an interesting snapshot of life on Barbuda and you can search through them below.
