Weather report

Yesterday and today rain fell in Barbuda. On both days the rain started just after dawn (about 5.45 am) and fell very heavily (with thunder and lightning on Friday) until about 11 am, when it became an English drizzle. Water-starved gardens and trees are already showing signs of growth; the Flamboyant tree, west of the Post Office, has burst into flower. Meanwhile the animals are attempting to avoid the water and mud. The rain is affecting the north and eastern Caribbean from Cuba to Trinidad and Tobago. A tropical wave will enter the area this evening bringing more showers and isolated thunderstorms.
