Police arrest illegal immigrants

Lt Col Clyde walker announced that police had arrested 30 illegal immigrants, 15 women and 15 men, from Haiti. One man escaped, but was captured later. The Haitians had come ashore at Coral Group Bay from an unidentified vessel. They were transported to the police station by the school bus, which was escorted by the police jeep. The Haitians were taken to Antigua, where they were examined by the Chief Medical Officer and found to be in good health. The women are being held at Cape Blizzard and the men at the Immigration Department prior to deportation to Dominica.
