Intensive promotional activity in North America continues to reap dividends as Barbuda is once again featured in a major US newspaper. Last weekend’s edition of The New York Times Travel Section, features the pink sand beaches of Barbuda in an article captioned “6 Caribbean Beaches to See Before you Die”.

The renowned newspaper describes the western shore of Barbuda as “the tropical equivalent of the Champs-Élysées”. Cited as one of the longest pink sand beaches, the unique spectrum of conch shell hues woven in with the white sand is touted as a rare discovery and unmatched feature. The article also recognizes this stretch of beach for its incomparable dimensions of 17 miles long and 11 miles wide.

Over the past 12 months more than a dozen journalists from prominent publications including Vanity Fair and Travel and Leisure have visited Barbuda as part of the Barbuda Council Tourism team’s media outreach efforts
