By Election date set

The date set for the by-election will be 29th September 2014. The need for the by-election arose when Arthur Nibbs became a Government Minister and did not step down from his other positions, as the Barbuda Local Government Act prohibits any person who holds public office from being on the Council as well. Emrick John will be contending on the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) ticket, since he’s the only who expressed interest, ABLP MP Arthur Nibbs said yesterday. BPM will be contested by Paul Nedd.
