Sand mining to continue in Barbuda

Randolph (T C) Beazer, chairman of the Barbuda Council, has confirmed that sand mining operations in Barbuda will continue, but under strict guidelines. The Barbuda Council passed a resolution for tests to be carried out to ascertain the availability of off-shore sand. Randolph Beazer said that the sand mining would be controlled with the input of technicians, while supplies would be available to meet local demand.
