New immigration office opens

Lt Col Clyde Walker, the Chief Immigration Officer of Antigua and Barbuda, opened the new office at Madison Square to the west of Burton’s Depot. The ceremony was attended by Trevor Walker, the parliamentary representative, members of the Barbuda Council, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, and immigration officers. The office will be staffed by Barbudans who have been trained in Antigua. Lt Col Walker, a Barbudan himself, made special mention of Hildena Gore and Rhyser Harris, who had trained at the airport, seaport, and at headquarters.

Social Security has moved from the premises shared with the Immigration Office across from the Barbuda Pentecostal Church. Social Security is now on the west side, downstairs, at the New Administration Office.
