Barbuda has a new NGO. It was set up after Hurricane Irma as an immediate response to address the need to act more quickly before and after a natural disaster, especially on our isolated and vulnerable island. The NGO is run by three young Barbudans, living on Barbuda, and aid can now be directed straight to the local community, via their organisation, avoiding the delays we experienced after Irma. The NGO also act as an umbrella organisation for Barbudans who wish to raise funds for their own endeavours on Barbuda, so if you want to donate, or to work with Barbudango, you can contact them here.
