Nine medals - well done young athletes

Barbuda's performance in the three day inter-schools Track and Field Championships at YASCO sports complex in Antigua was excellent, says Mr Peter Cuffy, trainer, coach and sports co-ordinator. We got three gold, four silver and two bronze! Xena Webber won gold for U18 girls javelin, and Isha Gore won two golds for U20 boys javelin and for shot-put. Conneil Nedd won two silvers for the Open 5,000 and the U15 800m races. Dasheke Charles and Marina Walker won the other two silver medals for shot-put and javelin. In the bronze medal winners Adika Mussington was third in the U18 boys long jump and Conneil won bronze in the U15 boys 1500m. Thanks to all who supported this trip financially making it possible for these talented young athletes to travel to compete.

Now, it's been too long.
Too long, too long in slavery.
Free the people and let them move in liberty
Now, it's been too long.
Too long, too long in slavery.
So the struggle continue.
But while the struggle continue, I'm going to tell you.
We rastaman will set the world free...
